Some of my first memories involve myself scribbling in notebooks and
applying my own extravagant stories to what I drew. Eventually, other
kids began to ask me to draw things that they wanted, and there I was
with my own business in elementary school. Later on, I learned that I
could do this for a living, and I never let anything compromise that
decision to pursue what I love.
I have since graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design
with a BFA in Illustration, and I still find myself making well-contained
scribbles—whether I provide the story or someone else does it for me.
My time out of college has been spent doing freelance work for individuals,
small businesses, and larger companies. I currently work for an Afrocentric
greeting card company based out of Columbus, Ohio, and I continue to
look for opportunities in freelance—especially those in children’s book
illustration.
